The triplets are fast approaching the 4 month luna-versary. Cecelia and Niko are, for all intents and purposes, successfully sleep trained at this point. Both of them can go 12 hours straight without waking for a feeding or a changing.

The only holdout was Athan… until now. Last night, for the very first time, he managed to sleep 12 hours straight. We are cautiously thrilled and hoping that this is the start of a continuous pattern. We’ve been at this for 6 weeks now, and Gia is very thrilled to be able to sleep through the night herself.

The children are beginning to exhibit sporadic recognition of each other. They bore quickly of each other too. My guess is that since they can’t move towards each other to interact, they find no additional point in trying. They do like storytime. The kids get storytime at least twice a day (thanks to Apple’s Airplay). If they fail to hear the stories, they will complain. Interesting how kids take to routines so quickly huh?
One other nice thing about routines is the poop schedule. The kids generally go on average once a day now (as opposed to during each feeding). Of course, each time they do, it’s massive. But it helps to cut down on diaper use. We’ve gone from 8 or more a day to about 5 a day. We use special “night diapers” to tide them through 12 hours of continuous sleep. That way, they won’t have to wake up to be changed.
